Restaurants and shops will take over a temporarily traffic-free Gay Street. West Chester’s Gay Street will temporarily close to traffic between Matlack and Darlington streets starting Aug. 3 to allow restaurants and shops to expand their offerings. The open-air marketplace comes in response to indoor dining restrictions and other capacity limits in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
